We spent the afternoon at Rainbow Beach. It was a sunny day filled with an Australian geography lesson, wading, surfing, laying out and a picnic lunch.
The climb was ridiculously steep...to the point where we were pulling ourselves up the "path" using tree trunks and branches...anything that we could get our hands on really. I was a bit nervous about going back down, but it end up being so much easier that I had anticipated. There was a comment book hidden in a secret place at the top. Little Mars has made her place in Mt. Cooroy history.
We started the morning at the Eumundi Markets and then headed to Mt. Cooroy for a bit of hiking. There wasn't much of a trail, just a few scattered stones we had to follow to the top. We felt prepared considering we each had a snickers bar. James noticed that everyone that makes it back from hiking always survives because they had a snickers bar.
On our way off Fraser Island we stopped at Lake Birabeen before taking the ferry back to the mainland. We then stopped at the Tewantin Lookout to see the sunset before heading back to James' home.
After playing at the beach we stopped for groceries on the way home. We picked up some kangaroo meat for a mid afternoon snack. For dinner we headed to the Marina for fish and chips. Snowball became very intrigued with a clown that was entertaining the kids.
