Mt. Jiu Hua

Mt. Jiu Hua

We headed to Mt. Jiu Hua, one of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains. Due to its importance in the Buddhist religion, it has attracted many pilgrims and a large number of temples have been built in its vicinity. We visited a 200-year-old Zhan Chan Lin Temple with its gold-plated and wooden statues and Qiyuan Temple, largest of the sacred Jiu Hua temples.

Day 4 Scenic Cruising

Mornings started, for most people, with an early Tai Chi class on the sun deck. I skipped the classes and instead went straight to breakfast to beat the rush. Throughout the evening and part of the morning we cruised along the Yangtze towards Chizhou (142 miles away) and had lunch on the ship. We're headed to Mt. Jiu Hua today.
