Day 4 - Daly Waters

Yesterday James was smelling something burning on our tour bus. He told our guide, Wombat, that something may be wrong with the gears. Wombat told him it makes that smell every time he starts the bus, but it goes away. James wasn't convinced, but our guide was adamant that nothing was wrong. On our way to our first stop this morning the gear box died. The smell James noticed were the gears slowly burning into oblivion. We crawled to Daly Waters in first gear and we were basically stranded in the middle of nowhere. There was still so much we had to do on our trip and I was going to be really upset if we missed any of it because the tour didn't take care of their vehicles. It turned out there was another tour group going the opposite direction and they already did all the major things we had left to do. All they had left was to camp at the Outback station we were at the night before. After talking it through the guides decided to switch buses. So we ate lunch, moved our bags to the other bus and stranded the now pissed off group, whose bus we took, at Daly Waters.
