Jaipur Amber Fort

To get to Amber Fort you can take a jeep, an elephant or you can walk. Our tour crammed everyone in two jeeps. If you look at the first set of pictures you can see our guide hanging out the side of the jeep. At first he was clinging on to the back, but it's a bit of a bumpy ride, so he moved to the front. Amber Fort and Palace is an example of Rajput architecture. It's an 11km drive north of Jaipur. It was the site of the ancient capital of Jaipur state. Our last stop was at a place where they showed us how block prints are made. We weren't allowed to take photographs or I would have shown it here :) After the little demonstration they took us to their huge shop where they attempted to sell you furniture, statues, kitchenware, fabric, wall hangings, stoles, scarves, jewelry, paintings, etc.... After the tour we went back to our hotel ate lunch and spent the rest of the day and the entire next day shopping in the markets.
